1. School events
Summer festival “La Dolce Vita”
The summer festival is organized by the school.
Planned activities include a syrup bar, pizza, Mediterranean food, a stage, a bar, and a cake buffet.
The parents' council provides support on a case-by-case basis (e.g. cake buffet, possibly T-shirt printing).
Parents who would like to get involved can contact the parent council delegates.
Visiting morning on Tuesday, March 17th
Coffee/tea and healthy snacks are available. • More information and calls for help will follow.

2. Day school / childcare
An official flyer from the city with detailed information about the day school will be distributed in week 6.
Translations will be provided for the information session at the Volkshaus.
Estimated number of days bound by the contract:
Kindergarten: Monday & Friday - Grades 1-4:
Tuesday or Thursday - Grades 5-6: every day except Thursday
Siblings are assigned to groups as equally as possible.
The length of the lunch break will be communicated along with the timetable.
If fixed days are not compatible with the family situation, an application for an exchange, justified by family organizational necessities, can be submitted to the school management.
3. Traffic & School Route Safety (summarized)
Following an inspection with police and city officials on December 17, 2025, the following main topics were recorded:
Hardplatz (school route to the new Hard school building)
Hardplatz is an important route to school, but is currently considered too hot, too loud and too unsafe.
Cars regularly drive from Sihlfeldstrasse onto the square.
Trams, bicycles and pedestrians use the space simultaneously, without clear separation.
Children have to dodge fast-moving bicycles and cross the tram tracks of line 8.
A clearly marked, safe route to school is lacking.
Under review:
Short-term measures such as floor markings, and medium-term measures such as bollards, speed bumps or barriers (taking escape routes into account).
Crossing the tram is included in the official school route plan and is practiced with the children; parents and caregivers should consistently accompany them.
Anny-Klava-Platz (path to the Lochergut after-school care center)
Due to the new after-school care schedule, even younger children are now using this route daily. Cars cross the sidewalk there, which is unexpected and dangerous for children.
Under review: Improved signage of the sidewalk and adjustments to traffic management (e.g., markings).
Bullingerplatz (School and Kindergarten Route)
Bullingerplatz remains busy with traffic and confusing for children.
Cars, mopeds and bicycles often drive too fast and disregard pedestrian right-of-way.
The Zone 20 rule is unclearly signposted, making crossings difficult.
Vehicles sometimes drive on the sidewalk; bicycles are also traveling too fast.
Under review:
Clearer signage in the pedestrian zone, adjustments to bollards and awareness-raising measures.
Examination of structural measures (e.g. higher kerbs) as well as long-term adjustments to traffic management.
Greenery, trees, shade & climate (bundled)
Hardplatz, Bullingerplatz and the school surroundings are heavily sealed and heat up considerably in the summer.
Topics such as greening, shading, de-sealing and air quality were raised several times.
The city is responsible; some feedback is still pending.
Further action
Traffic measurements show high traffic volume and excessive speeds.
The parents' council is therefore calling for a joint site visit with the responsible authorities in order to determine concrete measures to increase safety and quality of stay.
Conclusion: Many measures have been initiated, but are still under review or clarification by the city, police and relevant authorities.
The parents' council will continue to monitor these issues.
4. Special Education School (HPS)
The HPS is currently located in the kindergarten at the Sihlfeld school building.
An expansion to higher levels is planned.
Parents can contact us directly if they are interested or have questions; we also have information on documentaries and films on the topic.
5. Parental education & participation
* A parent education evening took place; the content was good, but attendance was poor. • Further formats and improvements are being considered.
6. Onboarding & Support for Families
An online information meeting (Zoom) is planned for affected or interested families.
Language and digital barriers should be taken into account.
Teachers and school social workers help to provide targeted information and support to affected families.
